St. Francis Book Donation Program, 2006-07
As part of a new tradition St. Francis is sponsoring a Book Donation Program that will provide parents, teachers, school clubs, teams, organizations and local businesses with a way to permanently honor an individual, a team or the entire class of 2007. The books will become part of the SFHS Library collection and available for use by all current and future students.
The program will run from April 1 through August 1, 2007. During this time, those wishing to participate are invited to visit the SFHS website and select the 50 Years of Learning Book Donation link.
Once at this site, the donor can select a book by title, subject or price. To learn more about a title, the donor can click on the title, and a description of the book will be available. The donor can then, complete a donor form which will include the name(s) of the honoree(s), and payment information. All purchases are tax-deductible and may be eligible for employer gift-matching programs.
Each donated book will be affixed with a commemorative bookplate that was designed by senior, Denise Prociuk, as part of this year’s first Senior Bookplate Design Competition. In the Fall, all seniors were invited to submit an original design for a bookplate that would exemplify their pride and commitment to the St. Francis community. Denise’s winning design will be matted and framed for permanent display in the SFHS library, while a copy of the bookplate will be placed in each of the books donated as part of this year’s program.
