St. Francis High School Announces 2010 Illinois State Scholars
Raeann Huhn, principal of St. Francis High School in Wheaton, is pleased to announce the names of fifty-one students who have been recognized as 2009 Illinois State Scholars. The prestigious award is given annually by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) which is recognizing 19,345 high school students from across the state as this year’s State Scholars. Illinois State Scholars rank in the top ten percent of the state’s high school seniors from 752 high schools across the state. "It is with genuine pleasure that we honor these students,” said Huhn. "They represent 25% of the St. Francis Class of 2010.”
St. Francis High School scholars include Wheaton residents Katherine French, Elizabeth Jensen, Kristen Kelsay, David Spahn and Grace Thomas. Naperville winners include Connor Carragher, Zachary Clark, Sara Francesconi, Carolyn Griffith, Danielle Janota, Lauren Kaminky, Meghan Moore and Brittany Riesenbeck.
Those named from Winfield include Tyler Brown, Cheryl Charly, Peter Malak, Katherine Parisi, Stephanie Sheehan, Leo Simmons, Katie Slavin and Ryan Spatz. Glen Ellyn residents include Andrew Caron, Steven Howe, Daniel McCarthy, James Pigott, Mark Roberts and Daniel Sledz.
Residing in St. Charles are Velarie Belovsky, Allison Cochrane, Kyle Dawson, Zachary Kuzemka and Sean Montague.
Taylor Brysiewicz and Amanda Peplow are from Bartlett. Emily Carew and Sarah Wagner are from Carol Stream.
Also included are Wayne residents Joseph Germanos and Martha McDonnell.
Illinois State Scholars Chelsea Baker and James Olofson are from Roselle.
Additional St. Francis High School students include Adam Seraphin (Bloomingdale), Molly Holinger (Geneva), Calvin King (Hanover Park), Connor Malloy (Lisle), Shannon Koester (West Chicago) and Dean Quaranta (Woodridge).
