St. Francis band and choir perform in Disney for the 3rd year in a row!

On Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 97 music students and 10 faculty members headed south for a musical experience in Florida. The students were under the direction of Mr. Bob Mamminga, band director and Mrs. Nina Schroeder, choral director. The trip was organized through a special arrangement with Disney's Magic Music Days. Four music classes performed during the trip: The Music Ensemble and choir performed on Disney's Waterside Stage in Downtown Disney and the Spartan Marching band marched down Main Street in Disney World in a parade. The students participated in workshops with a Disney professional musician/composer who worked with them and provided a authentic rehearsal and recording experience. The students also had opportunites to see and explore Epcot, Disney World, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney. The trip was hugely successful and fun for all involved.
